There is a particular kind of physician whose influence is measured not in headlines but in decades of steady institutional building. Dr. Praveen Goday is exactly that kind of physician, a pediatric gastroenterologist whose career has unfolded largely across two institutions, each shaping the next.
Today, Dr. Goday serves as Director of Nutrition at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Clinical Professor at The Ohio State University. Although his official appointment records began in April 2022, he publicly announced that he would assume both roles in July 2022, stating, “I will serve as the Director of the Nutrition and Feeding Programs at Nationwide Children’s Hospital starting in July 2022,” and, regarding his academic appointment, “I will start in this academic position in July 2022.”
Seventeen Years in Milwaukee
Before Columbus came Milwaukee, where Dr. Goday spent more than seventeen and a half years at the Medical College of Wisconsin, building a career that reflected the steady progression of academic medicine.
He joined the institution as an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Gastroenterology in November 2004, serving until July 2009. He was then promoted to Associate Professor of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, a position he held until December 2013. In January 2014, he became Professor of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, a role he continued until April 2022.
During the final phase of his Milwaukee tenure, he also served as Interim Chief of the division from February 2021 through April 2022, providing leadership and continuity during an important transitional period for the department.
